HOW SHOULD I SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT?
Please email or call the therapist you are interested in working with to schedule a free initial phone consultation. Initial consultations typically last 10-15 minutes. The purpose of this is to understand your reasons for seeking counseling, your past experiences with counseling and psychotherapy, and any questions you may have about our approach and practice.
HOW OFTEN WILL WE MEET?
Sessions are 45 minutes long, and occasionally, longer sessions may be scheduled. Generally, sessions are scheduled weekly, although again, sometimes sessions can be scheduled for twice a week if more intensive work is needed.
HOW LONG DOES THERAPY LAST?
The length of treatment varies for each person. We see clients both short and long term depending on the issues presented and your goals for therapy. Psychotherapy is a collaborative process where you will be an active participant in determining the length of therapy. We will continually check in on your goals and progress, and it is our hope that we come to a mutual agreement about the best time to end.
DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
As out-of-network providers, we do not work directly with any insurance companies. However, our services may qualify for reimbursement under many PPO insurance plans. We will provide you with a monthly statement of services to enable you to seek reimbursement from your insurance provider. We recommend contacting your insurance company to determine what your out-of-network mental health coverage is.
These questions may be helpful to discuss with your insurance carrier:
-
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
-
What is my out-of-network deductible and has it been met?
-
Once I hit my out-of-network deductible, what percentage will my insurance cover?
-
Is there a limit my insurance will pay for a 45-minute session (service code 90834)?
-
Is precertification required?

If you plan to use your out-of-network benefits, we will provide you a monthly bill with all necessary documentation, however, it is your responsibility to pay your clinician directly. Your credit card will be automatically charged at the end of each session.
DO YOU PRESCRIBE MEDICATION?
As counselors, we cannot prescribe medication. If in your work with your therapist, it is decided that medication may be useful to use in conjunction with psychotherapy, we can provide you with a referral to a medical professional who can manage your medication needs.
